Chapter 1

Size of the skateboard deck

The Decks from 6.5" to 7.375" are ideal for younger children, aged 4 to 12 years. It will be lighter, easier to control and easier to perform tricks.

The decks from 7.5" to 7.75" are ideal for those with small feet, it will be more comfortable and not cumbersome in movements.

The decks from 8" to 8.25" are among the measures most used by young people and adults, ideal for turning in street and perform tricks and both to ride in skatepark. The tighter it is, the easier it will be to perform technical tricks, the wider it will be, and the more stability you will have in the park.

The decks from 8.25" to 8.375" are ideal for those who want to ride in skatepark and half-pipe, for those seeking more stability and support under the feet.

The decks over 8.5" are the most stable but less maneuverable towards technical tricks, ideal for those who run in the park, half-pipe, bowl and vert, or for those who have a big foot.

Chapter 2

Concave of deck

If you take a deck and look at it in the front, you will notice a concavity in the center. The concavity is used to better control the deck and to create greater adherence for the feet. The concave is very subjective and sometimes is different depending on the brand you go to buy. We recommend to start with a middle way with a concave medium and find your own feeling trying different concavity over time.

- Low/Mellow concave | Ideal for street and technical tricks;

- Medium concave | Ideal for street and park;

- High/Full concave | Ideal for parks and transitions.

Kick of the deck

The kick of the deck is where there is the tilt that is on the end of the board that is called nose and tail. The precise spot where you kick to start performing a tricks is called Kick, and they stand out in three types: Mellow kick, Medium kick and Full kick. The choice of less accentuated or more accentuated kick is very personal and only by trying it you can understand the best feeling that suits you. Generally a low kick is softer than a high kick that will be more aggressive.

Shape of the deck

The shape of the deck is simply the shape it has. There are several Popsicle and Old School shapes.

- POPSICLE – The shape of these decks is symmetrical with almost identical nose and tail. They are the latest decks and are ideal for tricks and park thanks to its versatility.

- OLD SCHOOL – The shape of these decks is inspired by those of the 80s and are often very large and stable. They will be ideal for skateparks.

Chapter 3

Deck costruction

The use of skateboard construction materials varies according to the workmanship and technology chosen by the brand.

STANDARD COSTRUCTION: Used for over 30 years the standard construction of skateboards involves the production of decks composed of 7 layers of maple glued Canadian intertwining the grain of the wood. The quality of the adhesives and the careful production process are a guarantee of quality and reliability that has made the history of the industry.

RESIN HYBRID MAPLE: Produced through a mix of "hard rock" maple found at specific latitudes and Canadian maple, these boards are printed using the exclusive epoxy resin developed by DSM woodshop for the production of Skateboard. This glue ensures fixed humidity rates in the finished product and a stable quality over time: two characteristics that give greater longevity and pop more persistent than the industry standard. Resin Hard rock boards are printed using single position moulds that guarantee the perfect reproduction of the concavity of each of the products that come out of the factory. The construction of these boards offers one of the best price quality ratios available on the market.

2XS 7 PLY HARDROCK MAPLE: Produced using 7 layers Maple Hardrock with the special water-based 2XS ecocompatible glue developed by HLC, refined formula over the years with the best specialists, is produced in Europe to ensure exceptional quality, incredible pop lasting and consistent. Stronger deck of the market, more than ever and also its composition is ecological. The decks produced are guaranteed 2 years against accidental breakage.

RESIN-7: Produced using maple from the northernmost forests of Canada, Resin 7 boards employ seven layers of puff pastry, coupled by crossing the grain. Plywood is produced using an exclusive epoxy resin patented by DSM Woodshop. This glue ensures fixed humidity rates in the finished product and a stable quality over time: two characteristics that give greater longevity and pop more persistent than the industry standard. Resin7 boards are individually printed to ensure the perfect reproduction of the concavity of each of the products that come out of the factory. The boards produced with this technology are guaranteed 30 days against accidental breakage.

IMPACT SUPPORT: Founder of all Impact technologies, this construction employs 8 layers of Canadian maple coupled with two round carbon fiber inserts positioned at the trucks. The use of these reinforcements in the most stressed areas of the deck and moulding with epoxy resin patented by DSM Woodshop guarantee more resistant decks with persistent pop. Impact Plus decks are individually printed to ensure the perfect reproduction of the concavity of each of the products that come out of the factory. The boards produced with this technology are guaranteed 45 days against accidental breakage.

IMPACT LIGHT: The most advanced construction of the famous DSM Woodshop includes a deck built with 7 layers of Canadian maple reinforced and lightened by the inclusion of a carbon fiber insert in the upper layer. The pressing takes place through a single and unique mould for each deck using an exclusive epoxy resin. The result is a stronger, lighter deck with a pop that lasts longer in time. Impact light decks are guaranteed 45 days against accidental breakage.

IMPACT PLUS: If you are looking for an ultra-durable and durable board, Impact Plus technology is just the thing for you. This construction involves the use of 8 layers of Canadian maple and the insertion of carbon fiber reinforcements in both the upper and lower layers of the board. In the top ply (upper layer, where the griptape is placed) the carbon reinforcement is inserted longitudinally while the bottom ply (lower layer) is reinforced through two discs arranged in correspondence to the trucks. The Impact plus are produced using an exclusive epoxy resin patented by DSM Woodshop. The result is a table that offers characteristics of strength, persistence of pop and longevity unique in the market. The Impact Plus boards are individually printed to ensure the perfect reproduction of the concavity of each of the products leaving the factory. Boards produced with this technology are guaranteed 45 days against accidental breakage.

PS STIX: Produced in Mexico close to the Californian border, these decks come out of the famous PS Stix woodshop. It was Founded 40 years ago by Paul Schmitt the company of "Professor Schmitt", is a guarantee of quality and maniacal attention to shape and concave. The choice of the best woods, the obsession with quality control and a tried and tested production process make PS Stix boards a true myth of the North American skateboard industry.

EVERSLICK: Skateboard decks are the fastest sliding slick boards out and 5 times stronger than a standard 7 ply deck. The unique graphic application process yields bright colors and high contrast graphics that look great longer.

POWERPLY: The new technology "Powerply" of Santa Cruz Skateboards. This construction involves the use of the "Chip Resistant Technology", which is a reinforced material inserted into two of the 7 layers in the Nose and Tail making them so shockproof! The new "Powerply" not only last longer than normal boards but also have a more responsive pop and do not chip!

VX: These decks consist of 5 layers of Canadian maple and 2 layers of " Quad X Technology". Quad X layers combine fiberglass and carbon fiber fabric, which are transversely connected to each other. These special layers form the first and second-to-last layer of VX boards. This technology makes the boards thinner and stronger, as well as giving you a longer lasting pop.
